Stellar

Unmanned Department AI · Safeen Subsea

What Stellar is

Stellar is the Unmanned Department's self-hosted AI assistant. It runs entirely on the department's own server (ACS); questions and documents do not leave it, apart from Stellar reading live vessel data from NOKHADA.

It answers from the Safeen Green manuals, sea-trial and class documents, the COLREGs, and live data from NOKHADA, Watchkeeper, the RCW daily reports and the telemetry monitoring. It is an assistant: always check safety-critical answers against the source it names.

Built on open source

Stellar is built on Odysseus, an open-source, self-hosted AI workspace (github.com/odysseus-dev/odysseus), customised for Safeen Subsea by the Unmanned Department: the Stellar name and design, vessel-data connections, document library and operating instructions.

Source code

Under the AGPL, everyone who uses Stellar may receive the complete source code of the version they are using, including the Unmanned Department's modifications (the Stellar brand layer, its patches to Odysseus, and the read-only stellar-tools data service).

To request it, contact the Unmanned Department (Kenji Tubera). The licence text is included with the software (/app/LICENSE in the Stellar container).
